Free 14-day Skool trial (referral link)
Welcome back, fellow Skool enthusiasts! October has rolled around, bringing with it a bunch of exciting new features and updates for the Skool platform. Whether you’re managing a community or part of one, these changes are bound to enhance your experience and provide you with more tools to engage and grow. Let’s dive into the details of what’s new this month.
Community Request and Location Visibility
First things first, when you receive a request to join your community, you now have the ability to see the location of the requester. This is a handy feature that allows admins to better understand and tailor their community content and interactions based on geographic diversity.
"Understanding your audience means knowing where they come from, literally!"
Email Notifications for Posts and Polls
An enhancement you might find from previous months now allows you to seamlessly send email notifications to all community members when you publish a post. This feature ensures that no important content goes unnoticed. Moreover, polls have received an update as well. When you create a poll, you can send it out to members, and they will see the poll’s title directly in their email client and have the option to vote right from there.
Custom URLs for Free Groups on Trial
If you’ve ever been on the fence about starting a community with Skool, you’ll welcome this change with open arms. Now, even if you’re using a free group or you’re still on your 14-day trial, you can check which custom URLs are available to you. No more second-guessing whether a domain is taken; simply explore and establish your online presence with ease.
This update eliminates the need to make a financial commitment just to check domain availability. It’s a user-friendly change that enhances the initial setup process for new community developers.
Pricing Updates and Trial Management
A significant update this month is the introduction of a seven-day free trial period for new members. This trial feature can be toggled on or off, offering flexibility to community administrators. As part of this, you can now track trials in progress and monitor trial conversion rates via the dashboard, letting you see how your community is expanding.
Categories and Rules Management
Skool places a great emphasis on organization, which is evident in the recently enhanced categories and rules section. Administrators can now add, edit, move, or delete rules with the click of a button. This intuitive interface allows for clear communication of community guidelines and ensures members know what’s expected of them.
However, the location of these rules seems to have shifted. If you're struggling to find where they've moved to, don't worry—there will be updates available regarding this change. Stay tuned for further clarification in our upcoming posts.
Google Ads Tracking Plugin
For those interested in advertising and analytics, Skool has rolled out a Google Ads tracking plugin. This feature enables you to connect Google Tag Manager and gain insights into your digital advertising efforts. You can activate or edit this plugin in the settings, making it easy to integrate your marketing operations.
Filtering Content by Time
Finding the best content has become more efficient with the introduction of new filtering options. You can now filter posts not just by the best of the week but also view the best content from today, this month, this year, or even all time. This enhancement allows community members to catch up on standout content they might have missed and engage with the most relevant discussions.
Audio File Integration
Audio content is becoming increasingly popular, and Skool acknowledges this with the addition of an audio player. If you have audio files in your posts or comments, members can now play them directly within the community interface. This feature is also applicable in direct messages and courses, expanding how content is consumed on Skool.
Membership and Course Access
Managing members has seen some changes as well. Admins can now not only remove but also ban users from a group. Additionally, there’s an option to delete a banned member's posts from the last seven days, thereby cleaning up any unwanted content swiftly.
Furthermore, course creators now have more control, with options to give specific members access to courses individually.
Wrapping Up
These updates have significantly enriched the Skool platform, making it even more versatile for community leaders and members alike. As always, Skool's evolution is driven by user feedback and the need to provide a robust community-building experience.
We’re excited to see how these changes help you grow and engage with your communities. Keep exploring and experimenting with these tools, and don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and experiences.
