Skool Updates: November 2024 - Everything You Need to Know!

Hey everyone! I've got some exciting updates for you this November. First off, let’s dive into a hidden landing page that I stumbled upon. If you navigate to skool.com/features, you’ll discover a different perspective on what Skool has to offer. Instead of the usual landing page, this one highlights everything in one place, including community features and the classroom experience. However, it’s curious that monetization isn't mentioned here. Is it an older page or perhaps something they’re testing? Who knows! But it’s definitely worth checking out.

Next, if you click on the use cases section, you'll see how various users are leveraging Skool. It discusses subscription memberships and more ways people are utilizing the platform. If you're logged in, you can explore all the community features. If not, you can still browse around since it’s a public community. Just remember, to engage fully, you will need to create an account or log in.
There’s also an option to create your community. This brings you to the usual setup page, and if you want to see it in action, there’s a video overlay that showcases the Skool main community. Just a heads up, you actually need to click to play the video, as hovering won’t change your cursor.

Now let’s talk about some new settings and plugin updates. You now have the option to unlock chat features not only at level two but also at level three. The same goes for posting permissions; this is a great addition as it expands the capabilities for your members.

Speaking of community management, we discussed rules last time, and there have been some changes. You can still add rules, and if you need to provide a link to them, you can find it at skool.com/your-community/dashboard/rules. This is super handy for your welcome page.
When it comes to managing posts, if you need to delete someone’s content, you can now select specific rules to explain your actions. If you provide feedback, the member will receive an email detailing why their content was removed. This transparency is a great feature!

There’s also an improved reporting system. You can report users directly from their profiles or through DMs, sending alerts to Skool admins instead of just the community admins. This is a significant upgrade for community safety.

Now, let’s shift our focus to the Discovery page. Things have changed here as well. Previously, it showed just the top communities. Now, each community has its own standout position, making it fairer for everyone. For instance, you’ll see the top five from each category displayed, and they change every time you refresh the page. This means more exposure for various communities!

This change enhances the likelihood of your community being seen by new users. It’s a win-win situation for all community builders out there!
Thanks for tuning in! If you’re starting a Skool community, don’t forget to check out the 14-day free trial in the description. Have a fantastic day, and I’ll catch you in the next update!
